Golden State Shooting Center, located in Rio Oso CA, is more than just a state-of-the-art facility; we are a community built by and for responsible firearm owners. Golden State Shooting Center provides the shotgun shooter with 8 trap fields, 2 skeet fields, 5-stand, bunker trap and a sporting clays course. It also is the practice club for 13 local High School Trap Teams and our own CYSSA and SCTP teams, Team Coon Creek, providing instruction and competition for 9-18 year old youths in the area.

I’ve never shot a firearm before. Can I come to your range? Yes! We welcome shooters of all experience levels and are passionate about providing a safe and encouraging environment. While we do not provide equipment rentals, our Range Safety Officers are available to assist you, and we highly recommend our "First Shots" introductory course for those looking for a comprehensive start to the sport. Do I need to bring my own firearm to shoot? Yes. Every shooter is required to provide their own firearm. Golden State Shooting Center does not offer gun rentals at this time. What do I need to bring with me for my first visit? You will need a valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a Driver’s License or Passport). Because we do not rent eye or ear protection, all shooters and guests must bring their own safety gear to enter the range area. Can I bring my camera? Yes. You are welcome to take photos or videos of the members of your own party. However, to ensure the privacy and safety of all guests, you are not allowed to photograph other patrons, range personnel, or facility security features. Please note we do not have firearms on display for photography. Do you offer discounts to law enforcement and active-duty military? Yes. We are proud to support our service members and first responders. Discounts are available with proper identification. Can I bring my children? Minors are welcome when accompanied and supervised by a parent or legal guardian at all times. The supervising adult must sign a waiver for the minor. Please call us in advance if you have specific questions regarding age requirements for various shooting disciplines. Do I need a reservation to shoot? No. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis for all walk-in guests. We do not offer online reservations, but our facility is designed to accommodate shooters efficiently. Members may enjoy specific lane privileges during peak hours. Can I bring my own ammunition? Yes. You are welcome to bring your own ammunition, provided it meets our safety standards and is appropriate for the discipline you are shooting. What makes your range safe? Safety is our top priority. Our fields are designed with fixed stations and voice-activated release systems to ensure shooters remain in safe, designated positions. All participants must follow range rules and the directions of our Range Safety Officers at all times.
